The five lessons of COVID-19

Covid-19 emerged as an unimaginable form of threat to life all across the globe. None of us would have ever even imagined the emergence of such an unknown virus to humans as dangerous as Covid-19. Along with claiming a countless number of lives around the world the pandemic has also made us realize several things which we were missing out on for a long period of time.

Here are the five lessons that the pandemic taught us the hard way.

1. Health is the most crucial component of life: Health and wellness proved out to be the most important thing one must focus on. By the emergence of the pandemic, we all came to know the real worth of a strong immune system and the need to focus on personal physical and mental health. Health is the biggest wealth and hence its importance can never be ignored is what the pandemic’s hard taught first lesson to humankind was.

2. Nature is the mightiest of all: The pandemic gave us a life lesson that nature is the most powerful of all that exists or has ever existed into the universe. No matter how much development man has made in terms of new discoveries, technology up-gradation, traveling to space, etc., there are still many things that are beyond the control of man. Nature is the creator of mankind and if required, it can be the destroyer of the same human race that it has created is what we learned amid the Covid-19 threat.

3. Family is forever: Family is forever is the third important lesson that the pandemic taught us. While the whole world was forced to be indoors, people stayed with their family members at home. While everyone was trying to maintain distance from each other, physical though, it was the respective family members of the people who stayed together and helped each other sail through this hour of difficulty. People, in their very fast lives, had forgotten the real worth of family, parents, and kiths and kins, which was what the pandemic made them realize all over again. It made all of us realize that Family is permanent and forever no matter what.

4. Anything and everything can be done if there’s a strong will to do so: Majority of the nations had imposed nationwide lockdown to stop the spread of Covid-19 among the people and it seemed almost impossible to carry out official operations, travel and other daily routine activities by being indoors to the people in the very beginning of it. But since there was a strong will of the people and efficient cooperation of the respective government of the nations that made possible what looked like impossible to everyone. We can achieve anything we aim to achieve by having strong will power and a positive attitude is what the fourth lesson of the pandemic to mankind was about.

5. Life still goes on: The hardest learned lesson of Covid-19 is that there might be uncertainties, casualties, and destruction everywhere but life doesn’t stop for any of such things and it still goes on. The destruction of life and property caused by Covid-19 and other natural calamities since the past few months was severe and is still on-going. It has been very difficult for people to digest the loss of fellow citizens’ life and property during this hour of difficulty. There have been several incidents since the past few months that were totally heart-breaking and dumb-strucking and it became quite difficult to cope up with such loss of life and property around. But the harsh reality is that life’s still going and it will keep going no matter what is lost and who’s dead.

These lessons that the pandemic has taught us are for life. It made us realize that while running in the race of life we leave behind and ignore the most important things that actually matter. The pandemic taught us that all we have to live and enjoy is now, we never know if there’s a tomorrow or not.
