The High - Ticket Social Acceptance

There is an investment behind every return. And every great achievement requires great sacrifice. But what is most important is to ascertain if the achievement is worth the sacrifice or the hard-work or the investment for that matter, or not.

In a century as advanced and modern as the 21st Century has high demand in each and every aspect. Human has evolved in almost all the ways it could and it has tried and mastered all the known fields with perfection. But is the perfection of any worth? Everything needs hard work, dedication, and a lot of sacrifices to be achieved today. While social media is taking over our lives, we have all tried to be better than each other so as to stand out in the crowd. The same applies to the concept of social acceptance.

Human is a social being and needs social acceptance. Social acceptance is very crucial for everyone as an individual. To survive and be part of a society, social acceptance is a bare minimum requirement. However, this social acceptance that we seek and talk about is not so cheap and easy. It isn’t impossible to attain though. People today have changed the meaning and significance of social acceptability. The society that exists in the 21st Century has prevailed an altogether different standard and method of social acceptance and has set absolutely weird and unreasonable parameters of accepting people.

However, the actual social acceptability norms are way more different and easy than the usually accepted analogy of the same. Being socially acceptable has been connected with physical beauty, financial and societal status, family background, skin color, caste, and religion-based parameters, and a lot of other toxic measures too.

Resultantly, the so-called social acceptance and its attainment have caused several serious issues in society like:

(a). Body Shaming: Society and the people today have been adopting the practice of body shaming people and rejecting them on a social level if they do not fit into the size box of the narrow mind of the society. Having reached in the 21st century and evolving in all the possible ways, we are still having serious issues like body shaming prevalent in our society, which is no less than a shame for each one of us.

(b). Racism: Accept or not but racism is also a by-product of this weird and worn-out concept of the foul parameter of social acceptance. No skin color can define beauty. Superpowers of the world are still fighting over skin color issues when they have a plethora of issues to resolve and pay attention to.

(c). Financial Status: Financial Status is also a parameter to judge and accept people socially. A person who is financially strong and stable has the whole society running behind him and the one who actually needs care, attention and love is overlooked by society because of no social recognition or weak financial status of that person.

It’s time that we change the mainstream definition that we’ve given to social acceptance according to our conveniences and give it practical meaning. The parameters of social acceptance must not relate to body shape, skin color, physical features, etc. rather it must be associated with love and acceptability for each other.

A few things we can do to be presentable at our own are:

1. Love for everyone and everything around: Let’s try to accept each other and be caring, loving, and kind to everyone around us. Love can change the world into a better place to be.

2. Let’s keep it Unconditional: Attaching conditions to any concept makes it complex and tough to adopt and follow. Let’s pledge to keep no norms for social acceptance and accept each other the way all of us are.

3. Equal treatment to everyone around: Let’s bring into practice the principle of equality and treat everyone equally. Judging and discriminating between people on the basis of caste, color, body shape, religion, etc. is the worst thing that we can do as social beings.
