Our Honourable Prime Minister, on the 74th Independence Day of India, addressed the whole nation. In it, he emphasized the use of local products in India to support the self-reliant India campaign.
With the imposition of worldwide lockdown, it became difficult to import the materials required by various industries in India. In such a case, India's materials and products were used to support through the time of the Pandemic. So why can't we use our local material at regular times also?
The Swadeshi Movement
The concept of "Vocal for Local" was started in India as the Swadeshi Movement in 1905 as a part of the Independence movement. This helped with the development of nationalism in India, thereby leading to further growth in the domestic industries after Independence.
But with the advent of the 20th century, an incline in the investments by several multinational companies was also seen. The increase in the number of foreign products led to a further decline in our local products' use.
Supporting local entrepreneurs thereby became the need of the hour. With time local industries started setting up, and growth was also seen in various local companies. With the starting of the 21st century, an increase in the number of local industries was seen.
A remarkable success was seen in the IT and dairy industries. Various exotic fruits were also being produced in India by then. Many start-ups such as Zomato, Oyo rooms, Ola, and Paytm also emerged, making India more self-reliant.
Supporting local entrepreneurs
Even after a significant increase in local products, there is still a need to increase India's local industries. This will help maintain the economic stability of our country by decreasing the imports to a more considerable extent and increasing the number of employment opportunities for the youth, which has become a significant problem these days.
In difficult times like these, in which the economy is falling, there is a need to revive it as early as possible. This can be done by starting the use of products produced in India, thereby supporting our local entrepreneurs.
Self-reliant India campaign
Our Government has also put forward an economic package for the development of self-reliant India. The campaigns such as Make in India started to achieve the motto of Atmanirbhar Bharat or self-sufficient India. Thereby, there is a need to be vocal about our local entrepreneurs and industries. Supporting our local products will lead to the development of India.
With the start of the Swadeshi movement, all the citizens came together to support local products, which eventually led to India's Independence. Now also we have to start using our local products then only we can lead to further development of India.
Supporting local products will make India self-reliant. Voicing your thoughts to help encourage local manufacturers is the primary key to nation-building. This only will lead to the formation of a developed India.
