Tare Zameen Foundation is a Non-profit organization that works for the upliftment of underprivileged children, women and divyang in matters of health, education and empowerment. We have been serving people in several ways since its inception.
Our mission is to raise awareness on gender issues and bring it out in the open. Through our programs, we teach young girls/woman that their menstrual cycles are natural, a sign of good reproductive health
Tare Zameen Foundation's Women of Courage program is a gender-awareness and empowerment program that aims to build safe spaces of dialogue, engage with and empower adolescent girls in low-income schools, Government schools and colleges and slum areas.
Just like education, it is important for women and girls to pay attention to their health. During the awareness sessions, the team realized that the problem in remote areas is such women and girls have never used sanitary napkins, reason being, lack of information, accessibility and affordability. They rely on unhygienic alternatives. In order to provide them an access to sanitary pads, the Tare Zameen Foundation's team started a campaign program "JEET HAMARI-2" to reach out to as many underprivileged girls/women as possible through promoting better awareness amongst all genders to overcome embarrassment, cultural practices and taboos around the topic. The packets of sanitary napkins were distributed for free to girls, in Govt. schools, unprivileged women in slum areas and orphanages, in the age group of 12 to 45.
The distribution campaigns were successfully held on 3rd April 2019 Jeet Hamari-2 among underprivileged Girls/Woman in JJ colony area in Palam Vihar Delhi followed by 15th April 2019 and 5th May 2019 at JJ colony area in Babu Camp, South Delhi. We also accessed to the Girls/Woman in Unprivileged, JJ colony area in Sambhav Camp South Delhi on 13thMay, 2019. All these regular campaigns were successfully launched and benefited more than 480 girls/women from Delhi NCR and in addition to this they were assigned with appropriate education & awareness regarding their health & benefits of using Sanitary Pads. We promised to continue the free distribution of sanitary napkins every month among Girls/Woman in Delhi NCR throughout the Year.
