A teacher's job is not only to teach but also to awake the talent which is submerged inside a child and even let him/ her know about the value of life and why freedom fighters lost their life.
Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Rabindranath Tagore are some of them.
Some fought through the means of violence, while some through the means of writing. (Pen is a sword).Our freedom fighters had undergone many struggles for independence. The Britishers tortured them, but still, they kept on fighting.

LESS INTEREST OF INDIAN HISTORY EDUCATION
It was seen that the children in the school study more British history than Indian. The record included all about British people, their fight. There is hardly any lesson about freedom fighters, before that about Kings etc. in details.
Children of this generation hardly know in more information about patriotism and it'sits value. Now they can understand the deal only if they learn about the sacrifices given by the fighters. We have to make children know that it is because of strugglers they are free and independent.
It is also seen that today's generation are having less love for their nation. On the one hand, soldiers are fighting for us, and on the other hand, we, the citizens, keep on criticizing the country in some or the other way.
You will be surprised to know that the people in some areas or villages don'tdon't even know the correct order of the three colours of the flag.
A STORY TO SHARE
I will share my experience. I live in a colony which is surrounded by slum. I won't say it has 100% illiteracy as children of that slum go to school which is in our territory.It was Independence Day, and some ''Mukhiya'' of that slum was to hoist the flag. What I saw from my window was unbelievable.
The flag was upside down( Green above and saffron below). Flag hoisting finished, and no one objected not suggested to correct it. I tried to call any person so that anyone listened to me, but my effort was in vain as nobody was able to hear me.
WHAT NGOs CAN DO TO CREATE AWARENESS ABOUT FREEDOM FIGHTERS AND INCREASE THE FEELING OF PATRIOTISM.
There can be a significant role of NGOs to spread awareness about patriotism and freedom fighters.
Some measures that can be taken are:-
- Gathering school children and show documentary related to the topics monthly. This requires just a white sheet and projector.NGOs can reach to most barrier places also.
- They are giving free brochures which is related to patriotism.
- Organizing different competition such as ''Nataks'', ' 'slogans''.
